Tuition

$11,000
Tuition includes instruction, books and supplies. An additional $50 application fee to NYS Division of Licensing will be required at the time of testing. Financial assistance may be available through Federal Student Aid, ACCES-VR, the US Department of Veterans Affairs or other sources. A Financial Aid Coordinator is on staff to assist you.
A $300 security deposit is required to reserve your spot in this class.

Admissions Requirements

  • Transcripts. (Proof of a valid high school diploma, GED or college degree from the U.S. is required. HS diplomas with modified curriculum or individualized programs are not accepted.)
    • Applicants who do not meet these requirements must complete an entrance exam. Please contact Rashada Jackson to schedule.
  • A completed Registration Application. (see steps to register below)
  • A $300 security deposit is required to reserve your spot in this class.
  • A personal interview will be conducted.
  • Minimum age for enrollment is 18. (Exceptions may apply at the discretion of the Program Coordinator.)

Step 1: Apply here. Complete our Registration Application!

Step 2: Transfer Students and Students with Licensure only, complete additional form.

Step 3: Submit Your Transcripts. (Proof of a valid high school diploma, GED or college degree from the U.S.)

Step 4: Secure funding.

  • Financial assistance options are available here.
  • Financial Aid applicants, including Pell and Direct Student Loans, should start the FAFSA application process now. Visit http://studentaid.gov and use School Code 012557.
  • Funding must be secured BEFORE the start of class. Funding can take up to four weeks to process, please DO NOT WAIT.

Step 5: Personal interview. The Program Coordinator will contact you to review your application.

Transfer Students

Students who began a Salon and Spa Program at another school may apply to complete their hours through Erie 1 BOCES Workforce Development. Transfer students will be registered for one of our scheduled sessions but are only required to attend the number of terms or hours needed to complete the program. To apply, follow the registration steps in the "Get Started Now!" section, including the completion of the Transfer Student Application Form.

Students with Licensure

Students that currently have a NYS Appearance Enhancement License (Barbering, Cosmetology, Esthetics, Nail Technician, Natural Hair or Waxing) are eligible to receive credit hours and a tuition discount towards another Salon and Spa program. To apply, follow the registration steps in the "Get Started Now!" section, including the completion of the Salon and Spa Students with Licensure Form.

Employment Outlook

Individuals with a NYS Esthetics License can work as an Esthetician, Makeup Artist, Lash Specialist or Waxing Specialist. These professionals can work in Salons, Waxing Centers, Spas, Medical Centers and more. E1B provides career coaching, resume writing assistance, networking/branding advice and interview preparation support.
