
Commercial Wiring
This 36-hour Commercial Wiring course prepares adult learners for entry-level work in commercial and light industrial electrical settings. Students will learn how commercial electrical systems differ from residential systems, with a strong focus on safety, code awareness, and hands-on skill development. (36 Hour Program)

Instruction covers commercial wiring methods commonly used in offices, schools, retail spaces and industrial buildings. Topics include electrical theory review, blueprint and schematic reading, conduit bending and installation, commercial lighting systems, motor controls basics and installation of devices such as panels, transformers and disconnects. Students will be introduced to the National Electrical Code (NEC) as it applies to commercial environments.
Hands-on lab activities make up a significant portion of the course. Students will practice pulling wire, bending EMT conduit, installing junction boxes, mounting fixtures and troubleshooting basic electrical issues using industry-standard tools and materials.
